1 Privacy

International Education Services Ltd, an Australian corporation (ACN 010 844 005), trading as Professional International Education Resources (“PIER”), is committed to protecting your privacy when you make use of our website and services. This policy outlines what kinds of information we collect about you and the uses we may make of that information. 
  2. We will refer to ourselves in this Privacy Policy as “PIER”, “we” or “us”.
  3. By using our website, including the Agency Finder application (which incorporates Google Maps), you agree to be bound by the terms of this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you should not make use of our services.
  4. We reserve the right to update this Privacy Policy at any time.

2 Information we collect

2.1 Personal information

  1. We may collect personal information from you where it is necessary for our functions and activities.
  2. “Personal information” means any information which can be used to identify you and includes information such as your name, address, email address and telephone number.
  3. You may not be able to utilise the Agency Finder unless you provide us with personal information.

2.2 Other information

We may also ask you to provide or collect other information that cannot be used to identify you, such as date or year of birth, age, gender, geographic location, computer capabilities, preferences, IP addresses, browser type and language, access times and referring web site addresses, and information about your visit and use of the Service, such as the pages you view, the links you click and session data. To do this, we may use cookies and other technology (see “Cookies” below for more detail about the use of such technologies) and we may acquire such non-personal information from third party online tracking service providers. We may combine non-personal information with personal information.

3 Use of information

3.1 Purpose

The personal information you provide will allow us to complete your registration; provide you access to the Agency Finder to add or amend information which is listed there (and may form part of your listing on the Agency Finder); alert you of new features or enhancements; handle/route your customer service questions or issues; and/or notify you of upgrade opportunities and offers.
  3. We may use your personal information for internal marketing, profiling, or demographic purposes, so we can adapt our services to better suit your needs.
  4. Except where otherwise allowed by law, we will not use your personal information for any purpose other than the purpose for which it was collected, or a directly related purpose. We will not change the way we use your personal information unless you have given us permission to do so.

3.2 Disclosure

  1. We will not disclose your personal information to any person without your consent, except as outlined in this clause.
  2. We may disclose your personal information to third parties where we are authorised or required by law to do so and in order to take action with respect to any suspected breach of our Terms of Service.

We may disclose your personal information to employees of PIER and third parties who have been engaged to perform services for us relating to the functioning of the Agency Finder and our websites. Any third party engaged by us is required to comply with the same obligations in relation to your personal information as we are under this Privacy Policy.
  5. The data that you give us for the purposes of the Agency Finder application is provided on the basis that it will be made public. In accordance with clause 3.2 of the Terms of Service, you:
  6. Warrant that the data you provide is not your personal information or the personal information of anyone else; and
  7. Acknowledge and agree that by using our Agency Finder service and providing us with data for its use, we are able to publicly publish that data, irrespective of whether it is personal information. That information will then become accessible to any person who uses the Agency Finder.
  8. We may also disclose the data which you provide to us for the purposes of the Agency Finder application to related third parties in order to verify the accuracy of that information.
  9. We may disclose any information that is not personal information to third parties at our discretion.

3.3 Cookies

We use cookies and other technologies to personalise your experience and monitor usage of the Agency Finder. Cookies are small files downloaded to your computer to track movements within websites. We may link cookie information to personal information.

Most internet browsers will allow you to erase cookies from your computer hard drive, block acceptance of cookies, or receive a warning before a cookie is stored.  Please note, however, that if you block cookies, some portions of the Agency Finder may not function properly.

  2. We reserve the right to charge a fee for providing you with access to records containing your personal information.
  3. We allow you to control the way that we use personal information that we might obtain. At the time you provide personal information, you have the option of accepting any future offers or information about news, promotions, or services from us, by opting-in to such offers or information. In addition, many of the “mailings” we may send you, such as newsletters, have procedures within them to cancel the receipt of any future mailings. If at any time you change your mind and do not want to receive e-mails or other correspondence from us or want to have your account deactivated, you may contact our Privacy Policy Administrator at info@pieronline.org.

If you choose to have your personal information removed from our Agency Finder service, we will remove it within a reasonable time after your request and we will take reasonable steps to ensure that your personal information is not used (except as may be required by law) by us after your notification to us.  Your information will only be retained due to technical and legal requirements and constraints related to the security, integrity and operation of our website.
  5. We will take all reasonable steps to ensure that any personal information we hold about you is accurate, complete and up to date. Please assist us in keeping our records accurate by advising us of any changes to, or errors in, your personal information.

6 Third party links

The Agency Finder application and our website may contain links to other websites. Third party websites may also provide links to our website. This Privacy Policy applies only to the information collected through our website. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of other websites.

7 Other important agreements

In addition to this Privacy Policy, your rights and obligations regarding use of our Agency Finder application are governed by the Terms of Service (see http://iatc.icef.com/tos).
